On a construction site, everyone is responsible for the safety of their environment. Not only is this safety important for the project that is being constructed, but it is also beneficial to the ones who are completing the work. The following are some tips to help ensure construction site safety:

Uniforms

Construction sites require specialized uniforms. Part of the required uniform includes a hard hat to protect against head injuries, goggles for eye protection and steel-toed boots that protect the feet. Not complying with these uniform standards can result in fines or even having the construction site shut down.

Equipment

Equipment such as ladders, scaffolds, and other machinery must meet certain codes and regulations to be used on a site. In addition, equipment is subject to regular inspections to ensure proper working order.

Emergencies

Every site needs easily accessible emergency equipment such as a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and a defibrillator as well as having at least one person trained in the use of the equipment. It is also a good idea to have a phone nearby to call emergency services. Job safety is important in every industry, but those in the construction business are especially vulnerable. Therefore, it is important that all involved comply with the safety rules. If you need assistance with your construction project, contact Sisk Grading today.
